I’m still shocked at the amount of baseball players that will cease all strength training once their season begins.
As you can see, if you have stopped training your making a HUGE mistake! You’re not only missing valuable opportunities (80-320) to develop as a player but you’re also limiting on-field outputs (limiting/decreasing strength, speed, power)
Moral of the story.. Don’t Stop Training!
Here’s a complete in-season strength workout I used a few weeks ago with my high school athletes, Jared Southard and Dalton Porter (University of Texas Baseball Commits). If you’re looking to stay strong and improve on-field outputs this spring and summer give this workout a try!

Al. Medicine Ball Overhead Stomp 2 sets x 3 reps
A2. Bilateral Lower Body Exercise (Athletes Choice) 2 sets x 2 reps at 85% of 1 RM
A3. Serratus Wall Slide with Foam Roller 2 sets x 12 reps
B1. 1-Arm DB Floor Press 3 sets x 4 reps per side
B2. TRX Feet-Elevated Weighted Row 3 sets x 6 reps
B3. Squat to Stand with Diagonal Reach 3 sets x 5 reps
C1. DB Goblet Reverse Lunge 2 sets x 6 reps per side
C2. Prone RRP on Incline Bench 2 sets x 12 reps
C3. Stability Ball Stir The Pot 2 sets x 10 reps per side
