Workout of The Week (Week 3) In-Season Full Body Strength Workout

Starting Pitcher/Outfielder, Yale Hughes (West Liberty University) was back in town this week. I was able to video tape his full workout as he prepares to play (pitch and hit) this weekend for West Liberty University. This workout is one of two full body strength training workouts Yale performs over the course of the week to maintain his strength throughout the entire season.

Yale Hughes In-Season Full Body Strength Workout 

1A. Trap Bar Deadlift @60% of 1RM x 5 Reps
1B. Lower Body Reset – Goblet Squat to Hamstring Stretch Flow 3 sets x 5 reps

2A. Sled Push 3 sets x 20 Yards
2B. Lower Body Reset – 90/90 Hip Flow 3 sets x 10 reps (Not in Video)

3A. Landmine Press 3 sets x 10 reps
3B. Band Pull Apart’s x 15

4A. Inverted Row 3 sets x 12 reps
4B. Upper Body Reset – Forearm Wall Slides 3 sets x 8 reps
4C. Upper Body Reset – Back to Wall Shoulder Flexion 3 sets x 8 reps
